In order to reduce the massive youth unemployment in Liberia and help buttress National Government’s efforts in the area of youth employment and empowerment, we have decided to enter into entrepreneurship as an organization. We want to have different kinds of soap production center to help us implement our projects and at the same time help us reduce the too many dependencies in our organization.
We want to have several youths trained in soap production and at the same time, have a soap production center to make and produce kinds of soap. This will allow us to sell by whole-sale and generate more funds that will be used to continue to implement more projects in Liberia. The total amount we need to start the entire soap production center project is one thousand five hundred United States Dollars ($1,500) for a successful start.

The problems
As an organization, we have over the year found it very difficult and challenging of getting funding to implement our projects and supporting more less privileged students/kids get back to school, which is our primary purpose.
Therefore, we have decided to create opportunity of entrepreneurship to help us fulfill our goals and objects in meeting the needs of young people in Liberia.
The following problems are also additional challenges and obstacles increasing the youth unemployment rate in Liberia which is also really affecting us.
Youth unemployment rate in Liberia is as high as 85% (35% female and 50% males -October 7, 2017 FrontPageAfrica Report) according to the United Nations.
The massive unemployment rate of young people accounting about 65% of Liberia’s 4.5 million total population is very crucial to sustaining the peace and harmony of the state.
Besides, due to almost two decays civil unrest in Liberia, most Liberian companies and investors had left the country, thus leaving poverty of massive unemployment in the country with very poor educational facilities and systems.

There are not many opportunities for young people that would reduce youth unemployment rate in the country and because of these problems, most Liberian youth are finding it extremely difficult to acquire quality education, get involved into entrepreneurship for self-survival.

The solutions
Relatively, the above-mentioned problems can be reduced when there are job and entrepreneurship opportunities available for young people to engage into.

Our aims and objectives as an organization/entity are to help support less privileged kids get back to school, train and give youth the opportunities to acquire personal skills for survivability and at the same time reduce the high rate of unemployment in Liberia.
And based on these reasons, Rescue Youth Alliance, as a youthful organization endeavoring into empowering youth and advocating for the youth populace for better hope in meeting their needs, has decided to open and get involved into different kinds of soap production and have a Soap Production Center to sell either by whole sale or retail to supply other retailers doing the same business.

If this idea is made possible of accumulating the wanted amount, it with help us to generate funding independently and also help extend assistance to other passionate youth who want the opportunities to be trained and be independent, at the same time help continue implementing projects of sponsoring young people (like our first project) to get quality education in Liberia, most especially the under privileged kids.

Our Plans and Approaches
Sample of photos with our soap production expert, alone with REYA members inquiring and learning techniques of the products.
Having a Soap Production Center is very important and helpfully necessary because this will help us as an organization to generate funding independently, be able to implement our projects, train passionate and visionary young entrepreneurs to have life-time skills, help National Government reduce the unemployment rate and support the SDGs of the United Nations, particularly GOAL FOUR 4)-QUALITY EDUCATION and GOAL EIGHT (8)- DECENT WORK and ECONOMIC GROWTH.

Rescue Youth Alliance has an already available spot of land to purchase and construct a mini-building for its business center that will contain an office and a big wide room for soap production purpose.
Our organization will begin with a five-man team who will be in charged and have the responsibilities for effective soap production in line with the finance department of Rescue Youth Alliance.

Initially, a volunteering expert who we have already encountered and willing to extend her expertise in the area of soap production has already started training members of the organization in getting involved in the production. Our members will subsequently take over in making different kinds of soaps after the training.

Rescue Youth Alliance will provide all necessary tools for the soap production and at the same time collaborate with other organizations that may have the same vision or would like to support our business.

We're grateful to our leaders, members, sponsors, judges and participants for making this program a successful one into history’.

Serving as a Guest Speaker during program, Mr. Trojan Kiazolu, Manager of FARABRIC Radio 101.1 FM, encouraged Liberian youth to always prepare for future challenges with innovative ideas and remain courageous in overcoming their shortcomings.

The Liberian Journalist admonished young people to remain steadfast and vision-driven while working very hard towards their visions and goals.

‘’If you want to succeed in life, don’t envy, just remain persistent with whatever you do with a positive mind set of winning over your challenges’’, he said.

Mr. Trojan also appealed to other non-governmental organizations to partner with Rescue Youth Alliance for support of making more tangible impacts in Liberia as the institution (REYA) has started.

REYA Scholarship Program

In October of 2020 Rescue Youth Alliance - REYA provided scholarships/financial aid to ten (10) underprivileged students in Montserrado County in 2020. This was intended to buttress the efforts of single-parents at the peak of COVID-19 in Liberia and also help Liberian Government’s efforts in support of reducing illiteracy rate in Liberia. Our $500 project was implemented at the result of funding from donors’ support through our GoFundMe account to help underprivileged kids get back to school in Liberia. The project was the first impactful project of Rescue Youth Alliance. Rescue Youth Alliance has been helpful in providing aids (including financial and leadership assistance) for underprivileged kids who are financially impotent to get back to school. Through the help of REYA and its collaborators, the voices of young people in Liberia have been recognized in critical decision making, and also in representation, at the national level. We strive for excellence in meeting the needs of young people. We work to improve quality of life and living conditions, and advocate for the educational and social mobility of disadvantaged children and young people.
